1.20 Handbook Interpretation
Responsibility of Team Members
Team Members are responsible for:
- Reviewing and understanding all policies, procedures, and rules in this Team Member Handbook and any subsequent revisions.
- Complying with current policies as updated by THE COMPANY. Revised policies supersede prior versions and become effective immediately upon distribution.
- Seeking clarification in writing from the Director of Operations or another designated official if any provision is unclear. Reliance on informal statements from peers or non-designated supervisors is not a defense to policy violations.
No Contractual Guarantee
Nothing in this Team Member Handbook creates or is intended to create, either explicitly or implicitly, a contract of employment, a guarantee of continued employment, or a promise of specific treatment in specific situations. Employment with THE COMPANY is at-will, meaning either THE COMPANY or the team member may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause or notice, subject only to applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Scope of Policies
This Team Member Handbook does not attempt to address every possible situation or question that may arise during employment. When issues arise that are not specifically covered, THE COMPANY retains discretion to interpret and apply policies in a manner consistent with business needs, fairness, and compliance with all applicable laws.
Compliance with Laws
If any policy in this Team Member Handbook conflicts with applicable federal, state, or local law, the law will govern. THE COMPANY will apply the policy in a manner consistent with applicable law while maintaining the maximum enforceability of the remaining provisions.
National Labor Relations Act (NLRA)
Nothing in this Handbook is intended to, nor shall it be interpreted to, infringe upon Team Members’ rights under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), including but not limited to the rights to engage in protected concerted activities regarding terms and conditions of employment.
